Some people go too far for a “laugh”.

With the popularity of the Dark Knight movie, you just knew some crazies would come out an indeed they did.

Here’s the news story…

Detective Mike Mohney said Monday 20-year-old Spencer Taylor of Three Rivers has been booked for investigation of larceny and malicious destruction of property.Taylor is scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 5 in St. Joseph County District Court.

There is no telephone listing under his name in the Three Rivers area.

Mohney says officers who were dispatched early Sunday to the theater arrived to find employees restraining a man wearing a purple suit, a green wig and face paint in the style of Batman’s nemesis in “The Dark Knight.”

I’ve been divorced and I gotta say, if the story below had actually worked I would be kicking myself right now for not trying it.

An Indian man took a new approach to the painful process of divorce recently.

Sanjib Saha decided it would be best if he hired an impersonator to act as his wife during divorce procedures in the eastern city of Kolkata.

Both Sanjib and his fake wife said they sought a mutual divorce which the court granted.

divorce Man Caught Using Impersonator to Divorce Wife pictureSanjib’s real wife found out later, when she was asked to leave their home.

She immediately appealed to a higher court charging her husband with cheating on her and faking their divorce. The court suspended the fake divorce leaving both Sanjib and his wife married once more.

“The case exposed the legal loopholes in our system,” Kaushik Chanda, lawyer of Saha’s real wife, said.

Sanjib Saha finds himself in a tough situation. If he now tries to get the divorce legally, the judge is likely to be very hard on him and rule in his wife’s favor. If he doesn’t get the divorce he has to live and stay with his wife, who he just tried to divorce with an impersonator.

How do you get away with something like this?

Unless there are no video tapes of the courtroom and you can convince a jury that your exwife is certifiable, I can’t see hwo he believed this would work.

“A” for effort though.

I know the concerns about skin damage and cancer but Spray Tanning has to be outlawed.

There is a perfectly good sun outside and you can protect yourself if you look into it.

You can even lay in bed and get a better tan than using the spray but some people still use it and are left looking like these guys…

It is a crime against eyes.

I say we ban it.

Naked Cowboy vs M&Ms
icon1 admin | icon2 News | icon4 07 11th, 2008| icon3No Comments »

Most everyone has seen the “Naked Cowboy”, the street performer in Times Square, on TV or possibly in person.

Well now that same guy is suing the M&Ms candy company for trademark infringement.

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The $6 million lawsuit filed by the New York City street performer known as The Naked Cowboy against M&Ms candy maker Mars Inc can go forward on grounds of trademark infringement, a judge ruled on Monday.

Robert Burck — for 10 years a fixture in Times Square, who strums a white guitar while dressed only in white cowboy boots and hat and skimpy white underwear — filed the suit in February over video billboards depicting a blue M&M dressed in his signature outfit.

U.S. District Court Judge Denny Chin denied a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, ruling that Burck may proceed with his false endorsement claim, “for he plausibly alleges that consumers seeing defendants’ advertisements would conclude — incorrectly — that he had endorsed M&M candy.”

Chin dismissed Burck’s right to privacy claim, noting that New York law protects the name, portrait or picture of a living person but not that of a character or a role created by or performed by a living person.

Burck, who poses for photos with giggling tourists in return for dollars slipped into his boots, has trademarked his look and licensed his name and likeness to companies for endorsements and advertisements, including a Chevrolet commercial that appeared during a Super Bowl, the suit says.

In addition to Mars, Burck sued Chute Gerdeman Inc, the agency that created the ads with the Naked Cowboy M&M as well as ads with M&Ms dressed as other characters associated with New York, including the Statue of Liberty and King Kong.

Chin ordered attorneys for both sides to appear for a pretrial conference on July 11.

I think someone should sue “Naked Cowboy” for false advertising. He’s hardly naked while wearing those tighty-whiteys and cowboy boots.

I don’t want to name the exact case or people involved but I can’t seem to understand how this even happened.

A man in Texas shoots two men in their backs after they robbed his neighbors house and tried to escape by crossing his lawn.

The man claimed that he feared for his life and that they were “attacking” even though the 911 operator urged him to stay in his house.

He ignored the advice given by the operator and went outside, ordered the two men to stop but when they didn’t, he shot them both.

And now a panel issues a no-bill after two weeks of testimony and he’s cleared by grand jury concluding that what he did was a justifiable use of deadly force and not murder.

Now I understand that in Texas, a person has a right to use deadly force to protect his property, but does that include a other people’s property?

If this man was fearing for his life, why did he go outside?

And who the hell was his lawyer because that guy is good!

Even More Outdated Laws
icon1 admin | icon2 Humor | icon4 07 1st, 2008| icon3No Comments »

If there was ever a book that contained every law ever made, it would make the Bible look like a pamphlet.

Here are even more outdated laws.

In Kentucky, it’s the law that a person must take a bath once a year.

In Utah, birds have the right of way on any public highway.

In Ohio, one must have a license to keep a bear.

In Tennessee, a law exists which prohibits the sale of bologna (sandwich meat) on Sunday.

In Virginia, the Code of 1930 has a statute which prohibits corrupt practices or bribery by any person other than political candidates.

In Providence, Rhode Island, it is against the law to jump off a bridge.

In the State of Kansas, you’re not allowed to drive a buffalo through a street.

In Florida, it is against the law to put livestock on a school bus.

In New Jersey, cabbage can’t be sold on Sunday.

In Phoenix, Arizona, you can’t walk through a hotel lobby with spurs on.

In California, a law created in 1925 makes it illegal to wiggle while dancing.

In Utah, daylight must be visible between dancing couples.

In Michigan, it is against the law for a lady to lift her skirt more than 6 inches while walking through a mud puddle.

In North Carolina, it is against the law for a rabbit to race down the street.

In Georgia, it’s against the law to spread a false rumor.

In West Virginia, one can’t cook sauerkraut or cabbage due to the odors and the offence is subject to imprisonment.

In Missouri, a man must have a permit to shave.

The law states that more than 3000 sheep cannot be herded down Hollywood Blvd. at any one time.

In Texas, it is still a “hanging offense” to steal cattle.

What’s funnier, the thought that these are real or that there was ever really a need for some of them?
